Community Health Services
As well as our GP surgery team, we work closely with local community health teams. You can find out how to access District Nurses, Midwives, and Health Visitors below.
🩺 District Nurses
District nurses provide essential nursing care to patients who need clinical support in the community.

Where: Based at the Integrated Care Centre.

Services include: Wound dressings, stitch/staple removal, and other nursing procedures.

When: Clinics are held daily, Monday to Friday (by appointment only).

🤰 Midwife Services (Maternity Care)
Maternity services are provided by the midwifery team based at the Royal Oldham Hospital. They use a digital system called Badger Notes to manage your pregnancy journey.
Just found out you are pregnant? > You do not need to see a GP first. You can refer yourself directly to the midwifery team to start your prenatal care.
How to self-refer:

Once your referral is received, the hospital will call you within 2 weeks to arrange your first "booking" appointment.
👶 Health Visitors
Health visitors are registered nurses or midwives who have undergone additional training in maternal and child health. They support families with children under the age of 5 to help give every child the best start in life.

What they do: Provide advice and support on baby/child development, feeding, sleeping, parental mental health, and general physical and social wellbeing.
